SYNAGOGUE NEWS
A SHABBAT MORNING MEDITATION SIT

Join us for a half hour of silent meditation starting at 9:30, prior to the Morning Service at 10.  A few of us tried it last week and found that it added a lot to our davenning experience. Try it, you may like it.

Please note, the offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday and will reopen Monday morning.

THANK YOU
To those who baked or bought cake (honey or other) for after Ne'ilah - your cakes were enjoyed and appreciated by the congregation.
With best wishes for good health and happiness for the coming year -
Sheindl Rothman, HCC
Your devoted Honey Cake Coordinator (HCC)

HAGBAH TRAINING WORKSHOP- COMING SOON TO A BIMAH NEAR YOU!
We will offering a Hagbah Training Workshop. Hagbah is the honor given to a member whereby he or she lifts the Torah after it has been read and shows the Hebrew script to the congregation.  Since the Torah may be heavy there is a technique to lifting the Torah which greatly facilitates this honor.  All members are welcome.  This may be of particular interest to young adults. No experience required. The workshop will be given by Roger Antebi.  Time and date to be confirmed.  Please contact Roger directly if you would like to participate roger@pacificsteel.ca.

Wednesday, October 29th, 2014 at noon at Dorshei Emet
