HIGH HOLIDAY PREP CLASSES

to your children?

EXPLORING JEWISH VALUES FOR EVERYDAY LIFE THROUGH THE TALMUD
Classes postponed until after the holidays.
Jewish
tradition teaches us that the Torah by itself is not Judaism. It is
only through interpretation and study that we access the true genius and
meaning of its stories. Yohanan Lowen will continue his popular
Talmud classes by focusing on the inspiring ethical teachings of the
great sages of the Babylonian Talmud including Rav Hisda, Abba Aricha, Samuel of Nehardea and Mar Ukva.
The course will be offered on a weekly basis, Mondays at noon. Registration fee for the 8 classes is $72, and $100 for non-members.

Doshei
Emet parents of kids about 5 to 7+ years old are forming a weekly
Jewish enrichment class to learn more that we can cover during Family
Shabbat, including some Hebrew letters and vocabulary, blessings,
Judaica and holiday/biblical stories. The class would be taught by an
experienced teacher of this material who has extensive experience in
Montreal with this kind of program. We would meet weekly starting some
time next month. If you are interested please contact Rabbi Julia rabbijulia@dorshei-emet.org, (514) 486-9400 and/or congregation parent Daniel Roth at highspeedrail@gmail.com.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND HOLIDAYS
GUESS WHO'S COMING TO SHABBAT? (GWCTS)
Friday, October 10th - All over Montreal
Our
flagship community building program is back. GWCTS partners congregants
with one another for Shabbat dinners in their own homes. The program
has two goals: First, to strengthen the synagogue community: we ask you
to invite someone you don't know very well and to form a new friendship.
Second, to help families build meaningful Shabbat memories. The first
dinner will be during Sukkot; whether or not you have a sukkah, share
the holiday experience with other members of the congregation. If you
have been a guest in the past, consider paying it forward and hosting
your own. To sign up to host a dinner fill in the form by clicking here:
host form link is here. Or send an email to dorsheishabbatdinners@gmail.com. Let us know who you are inviting or we can suggest invitees.
GETTING READY FOR SUKKOT
Please call the office to order your Lulav and Etrog by September 22. Contact Yana at 514-486-9400 or admin@dorshei-emet.org Price is $50 per set.
