MCGILL UNIVERSITY-LOOKING FOR TEST SUBJECTS
I am studying the operation of the Canadian Shift among Montreal Jewish English speakers of varying ages. I'm looking for as many participants as possible who are over 18, have at least one Jewish parent, and grew up speaking English in Montreal. Each interview consists of three parts: a 60-second exchange just to record the participant's age, gender, and a couple of other pieces of demographic information; a 2-3 minute recorded reading passage; and a 4-6 minute task at a laptop that involves listening to vowel sounds and matching them with the words they most likely belong in. Each full interview takes around 10 minutes. If interested, please respond to Thomas Kettig, Linguistic Professor, McGill University, thomas.kettig@mail.mcgill.ca
