HANUKKAH FOOD BASKETS
Thank you to the Pre B'nei Mitzvah participants and their families as well as all of the volunteers who helped to assemble and deliver over 200 Hanukkah food baskets this year. A special thank you to the event organizers Agneta Hollander, Paula Merovitz and Allan Ptack. 

SHABBAT MINI-SERIES 5773 - December 8 at 10:00 am
The theme of this year's Mini-series is "Emerging Patterns of World Jewry." The goal is to broaden and enhance our connection of Klal Yisrael by gaining an understanding of diversity and commonality of the contemporary Jewish Experience. First session, December 8, is a conversation about Argentinian Jewry with Sharon Bitensky, Senior Planning Officer, Federation CJA; former Assistant Director of the Community Rebuilding Department of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in Latin American and the Caribbean. Sharon immigrated to Montreal from Argentina in 2005.

ADULT EDUCATION UPDATE: Re-Engaging with the State of Israel
We will be restarting the class April 8, 2013 for five sessions. The first class will recap the major themes of the fall session. The events of the last few weeks dramatically illustrate how relevant and important the issues the class addresses are to our community. Have a warm, comfortable, safe winter and thank you again for supporting our Adult Education program.

If you would like an Aliyah for a yahrtzeit on a Shabbat morning, please identify yourself to a Parnass when you come into the sanctuary.  It is recommended that you arrive by 10:15 so as not to miss the opportunity. It is a traditional mitzvah to honour a Yahrtzeit or other important family occasion by making a Tzedakah donation. To donate to the synagogue or sponsor a Kiddush, please contact the Dorshei Emet office.

MORNING MINYAN
  
Minyan takes place every Monday and Wednesday morning at 7:30 am, followed by breakfast. Monday is a traditional davening and Torah reading. Wednesday is a Mindfulness Meditation minyan.
If you are saying Kaddish, observing a yahrtzeit, or marking a special occasion, please join us.  It is a wonderful way to start the week or the day in a warm and inspiring ambiance among friends.

THE MUSIC OF GEORGE AND IRA GERSHWIN
