SYNAGOGUE NEWS
SHABBAT MORNING GREETERS
Several weeks ago we introduced a new initiative where synagogue members act as greeters on Shabbat morning, welcoming our Congregants and guests. The response has been very positive and the experience is enriching for both the synagogue participants and the volunteers.  If you would like to more information on what is involved or would like to volunteer to be a greeter, please contact Andrei Kelner andrei.kelner@gmail.com or Robyn Bennettrobyn@dorshei-emet.org (514) 486-9400.  Students are also welcome.

EMPTY BOWLS THANK YOU
The Empty Bowls committee would like to thank the synagogue and the entire Dorshei Emet community for making Empty Bowls the warm and wonderful event we all love! With our partners at the Unitarian Church of Montreal we raised close to $17,000 to support the following local charities: DE's Hanukkah Baskets fund, Santrapole Roulant, Multi-Caf, the NDG Food Bank, and St. Michael's Mission. Special thanks to our donors: Patrizia di Cori's I Sapori Catering, Provigo on Mont-Royal and Saint-Urbain, Montreal Pita, Montreal Kosher Bakery, Fruiterie Maruti, and the many, MANY potters around whose beautiful work the day is built.  Thanks also to our musical guests Dorshei Emet's Olga Gross, Joanne Griffiths and Jean-François Garneau , and Karen Potje and Adam Goulet.
If people are still interested supporting an important cause and procuring a beautiful hand-crafted bowl, feel free to contact Sheila Caplan, through the synagogue office.
Save the date: May 3 and 4, 2014 for next year's event, visit our webpage and like us on facebook in order to receive updates on ours and related events throughout the year. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Empty-Bowls-Montreal-Bols-du-partage/165781776805368  and  www.emptybowls-bolsdepartage.
